So, I have just spent a lovely weekend in Oxford with James, where I picked up my kickbike!! Pix of James, Charlotte and I playing on said kickbike can be found here. Good fun was had by all. Even just from [what is the appropriate verb? riding? kicking? answers in comments..] back through London from Paddington to Charing Cross, which was about 5. ( Read more... )

Yesterday we had a beautiful and blessed day off, which meant that I stayed in bed till the decadent hour of 9am - well, it felt decadent for me, anyway. I had to go to some teaching fair thing at lunchtime, where I signed up with lots of councils and got given lots of bits of paper and information packs and pens and such. This weekend, it was The Boy's birthday, so a trip to Oxford was absolutely in order. After negotiating a very packed Jubilee line, and a slightly less packed but air conditioned and thus cold train I found myself back in the 'ford, and a weekend of many funs had begun. Woah. They have been giving us so much paperwork and things to do and records to keep and it's all masses of faff. I'm telling you, teaching is all paperwork. I have to have a professional development file, an English file and a Maths file, to prove I meet the standards for QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). Like I said, faff ( Read more... )
